Sound Kreations
Our first two days of dance were excellent. The name of the choreography song is Mi Carrito by the group Angeles. If using the Youtube version, I recommend parents preview the video, just in case.
Book Fair
Today students were able to preview the book fair. They are bringing home a wishlist. Next week, they will have the opportunity to purchase books during the day on Tuesday (or another day if they forget). The book fair will be open Thursday evening during conferences and the book fair is also available online. Purchase of books is optional.
Class Photos
Our class photos will be coming home tomorrow. Please check backpacks!
Math
We are getting more into practicing addition. You can help your child at home by ensuring they know their additions to 20 efficiently. Some tricky ones are 6 + 7, 6 + 8, 7 + 7, 7 + 8, 8 + 8, 8 + 9, 9 + 9. If your child is strong with those, they may benefit from some practice to mentally add double-digit doubles. For example: 24 + 24, 36 + 36, etc. These can be with regrouping or not.
Spanish
In Spanish we are looking at animals of Perú and are using a variety of sentence structures, adjectives and body parts. You can get your child to list some of the animals and describe them using their new Spanish vocabulary.
English
We have been looking specifically at plural nouns and which ones take an -s, an -es, or the ones that drop a -y to add -ies.
We are also looking at how to visualize the events and ideas in a text while reading.
