November 22

We had our last day of Sound Kreations Dance and students did an amazing job!

I am looking forward to meeting and sharing students progress with parents on Thursday evening and Friday.

Math

We continue to work at addition of two and three-digit numbers with and without regrouping. I have added some resources to Google Classroom that could support home practice of additions.

Spanish

We have continued to work at talking about and describing various animals from Peru.  I have added the slide presentation that we used in class to the Google Classroom for additional home practice. Within the presentation I have included a few instructions and many examples of sentence structures that we have practiced together in class. Students should be familiar with this as we have worked with the vocabulary and sentences extensively.

English

We are working on developing event stories which are a personal descriptive narrative that slows down the action of an event. These stories do not have a traditional story problem with characters. They outline an event in a descriptive manner. We are practicing shared writing to practice this. We have written examples together as a class and are practicing with a partner to create a descriptive event story about a "Snow Day" modelled after a book of the same title.

Social Studies

We have started to study traditions and celebrations of other countries. We will study traditions and celebrations in Peru, Ukraine, Tunisia, and India. Today we began with a brainstorm of various traditions and celebrations from our own lives and a review of the difference between a celebration and a tradition. You can support at home by having discussions with your child about your own celebrations and traditions.
