We have been working on some great things in our class this week.
In English, we have watched a video about Terry Fox and the Marathon of Hope. The student identified traits that apply to Terry and reasons for why they chose the trait. For example: Terry Fox is courageous for running across Canada.
In Spanish, we have worked on a similar activity to learn some adjective traits and use them to create simple sentences about Terry Fox.
In math, we continue to work at place value concepts.
In social studies we have begun to study the idea of quality of life. We will explore the idea and learn about the quality of life in Peru, Tunisia, Ukraine, India, and Canada.
In science, we continue to study rocks and minerals. This week's focus was on igneous rocks. Ask your child to explain how igneous rocks are formed!
I look forward to meeting with parents this week to learn more about your child and how I can help make this year a success!
